Lola Conde
Tras terminar sus estudios de bachiller en Nueva York, vuelve a España y se licencia en Derecho español y Comunitario por la Universidad CEU de Madrid con Premio Extraordinario. Cursa simultáneamente la diplomatura en Ciencias Políticas y trabaja por las mañanas. Tras unos años preparando oposiciones, se incorpora al Grupo Santander. Participa en la primera edición del Programa Supera, y ha cursado numerosos estudios de postgrado y desarrollo directivo tanto técnicos como de gestión en instituciones tan prestigiosas con el IE Business School, destacando su MBA Multinacional con Deusto en EEUU.
En 2016, asumió el reto como Santander Legal COO, reportando al Secretario del Consejo y Global General Counsel del Grupo, habiendo desarrollado su carrera profesional como jurista íntegramente en el Grupo, en ámbitos tan diversos como Nuevas Tecnologías, Innovación, IT&Ops, Banca Retail, RRHH, Compras y Costes, Comunicación, Gobierno Corporativo, y Gestión de Crisis tanto a nivel nacional como internacional, gestionando equipos globales, directa e indirectamente en proyectos relevantes y de impacto, desde hace más de 20 años.
Como Santander Legal Chief Operating Officer, tuvo encomendada por la Alta Dirección de Asesoría Jurídica una función innovadora y transformacional dentro de los servicios jurídicos internos de las multinacionales que nace inspirada en la estrategia y cultura corporativas. Su misión consiste en definir y desarrollar dentro de la Asesoría Jurídica, bajo la tutela de la alta dirección, y como apoyo directo a la misma, una función no técnico-jurídica sino de gestión a nivel global, para la mejora de la eficiencia y eficacia, con foco en el cumplimiento de los objetivos estratégicos del Banco y en el cómo nuestros comportamientos corporativos SPF y el concepto de Banca Responsable.
Tras cinco años y haber sido clave en la puesta en marcha de las funciones de control y soporte de la asesoría jurídica, que se encuentran en una etapa de madurez, Lola Conde pasa de nuevo al ejercicio y asesoramiento jurídico como Directora de la Asesoría Jurídica Corporativa para las Divisiones y áreas de Comunicación y Marketing, Inmuebles y Servicios Generales, Seguridad e inteligencia, Recursos Humanos, con carácter global, y a la Fundación Banco Santander.
Lola cuenta con amplia experiencia en esas materias y el aprendizaje de estos años como Santander Legal COO, en el diseño y expansión de una función innovadora en el sector, ha complementado en gran medida su formación y conocimiento en Derecho y del Grupo, en beneficio de un mejor criterio a la hora de asesorar a las actividades del Grupo y dirigir a su equipo para ello.
En la actualidad asimismo ha sido designada como Copresidenta de la Sección de Abogados de Empresa del Ilustre Colegio de Abogados de Madrid.
Lola has developed her career at Santander Legal as a lawyer in fields as diverse as e-business, retail banking, HR, Purchases, Costs, Communication, Corporate Governance, both at a national and international level, managing teams in high-impact projects. She holds a degree in Spanish and European Union Law from the Universidad CEU, with an Extraordinary Award, and has completed postgraduate studies at IE (PDD), Multinational MBA at Deusto and combines her professional activity with activities related to her passion for teaching.
In 2016, she took up the challenge as Santander Legal COO, reporting to the Deputy Secretary of the Board and Director of the Legal Department of Banco Santander. As Global Santander Legal COO, she was entrusted by the Senior Management with an innovative function within the internal legal services of multinationals in general, and of Santander Group in particular. She has designed and built up a new legal function which was born inspired by the new corporate strategy and culture. Its mission was to define and develop within the Legal Department, under the tutelage of Senior Management, a non-technical-legal but a management function, to achieve objectives of improvement of its efficiency and effectiveness, communication actions, management and dissemination of knowledge, with a focus on the personal and professional development and motivation of people, of the team.
After five years, and having been key in the implementation of the control and support functions of legal operations, which are at a maturity stage, Lola Conde has been appointed as Corporate Legal & Internal Counsel Group VP for the Divisions and Areas of Communication and Marketing, Corporate Real Estate and General Services, Security and Intelligence, Human Resources, on a global basis, and Santander Foundation main activities. Back to the first line she loves!!
Lola has extensive experience in these areas and the lessons she has learned these past 5 years as Santander Legal COO, has largely complemented her training and knowledge in Law and the Group together with her academic activity.
Also, she has been appointed as representative of the In-House Lawyers at the Madrid Bar Association in 2021.
When Lola is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and teenage children.
